Stylish Doggie Jail

Ok, our dog is very ill. She suffers from cauda equina syndrome, which is a painful compression of the spinal cord due to a protrusion of one disc. Vet said to have her on strict box rest for three weeks at least.
Box rest requires a box. Unfortunately, doggie crates are not very common in Germany. They are expensive and have a delivery time of at least two weeks. Plus they are not very stylish.
So I asked a friend to build a doggie jail. He finished it only two hours later, built a crate for less than USD 15 and came over with an IKEA-style set and this is the cool result which will be our new living room furniture for the next three weeeks:

Unser Hund ist richtig krank. Sie hat das Cauda Equina Syndrom, eine Kompression des Wirbelsäulenkanals aufgrund einer Bandscheibenvorwölbung. Der Tierarzt hat drei Wochen strikte Boxenruhe verordnet. Für die Boxenruhe braucht man eine Box! Leider sind aber Hundeboxen in Deutschland nicht sehr verbreitet, sind teuer und haben eine Lieferzeit von etwa zwei Wochen. Und sie sehen grottig aus.
Deswegen habe ich einen Freund gebeten, mir eine Hundebox zu bauen. In nur zwei Stunden war er fertig und kam mit einem IKEA-mäßigen Paket an. Das Aufbauen war ein 10-min Kinderspiel, gekostet hat die Kiste vielleicht 20€. Das Resultat läßt sich sehen! Auf den Bildern ist unser neues Wohnzimmermöbel, ein stylishes Hundegefängnis!
